Dràm Mòr: Bottling the Unicorns of the Spirits World

Founded in 2019 by husband-and-wife team Viktorija and Kenny Macdonald, Dràm Mòr is an independent spirits bottler based in Dumbarton with a passion for uncovering truly exceptional casks.

Originally established as an export agency for independent Scotch whisky distillers, the business soon evolved in response to the growing global appetite for high-quality, independent bottlings.

Today, Dràm Mòr supplies bespoke single-cask spirits to 25 countries worldwide, expanding their portfolio beyond whisky to include rum, Armagnac, and other carefully curated treasures.

Their bottles can now be found in specialty spirits retailers, Michelin-starred restaurants, and gourmet outlets across the globe. Both Viktorija and Kenny bring years of experience from the whisky industry and are also co-founders of the Mòr Whisky Club at Glasgow’s iconic Òran Mòr.

“At Dràm Mòr we not only have a knack for finding the right spirit, but we also pride ourselves on our cask selection,” says Kenny. “We evaluate our spirits and pair it with a cask that will best reflect its potential - sourcing from small, family-owned, artisan distillers and vintners who produce Sherry butts, Port pipes, dessert wines, red wines, rum, cognac, liqueurs and the finest ex-bourbon.

We believe we are unique at Dràm Mòr because we hold no preconceptions about aged spirits. We know some will extoll the virtues of Scotch whisky, others are rabid about rum. Armagnac may be the finest spirit in the world, as is Cognac, as is bourbon and everyone is correct. We firmly believe that anything that comes out of a cask can be truly delightful and, most importantly, unique. With this open mindset, we source and bottle the unicorns of the spirits world.”

Excitingly, Dràm Mòr is currently bottling a white rum from a new UK distillery, with hopes to debut it at this year’s festival.

Looking ahead to autumn, they also plan to release new rums from the Philippines and Haiti - continuing their mission to bring rare, distinctive spirits to enthusiasts everywhere.
